capturing the little moments in wildlife

Hello! I’m Sophie — aka ‘pictures with soph’.

I have loved photography for as long as I can remember. I studied photography at A‑Level, travelled the world while capturing it with nothing but my iPhone camera, and became known among my friends for having an outrageous number of photos stored on my phone (I think I’m now over 90,000…).

Last year I spent a month camping across Southern Africa, and that trip changed everything for me. For this trip, I finally took the plunge and purchased my first proper camera setup - a Sony A6400 with a 70–350mm lens. Small enough to fit in my rucksack but powerful enough to capture wildlife I had always dreamed of photographing.

Just before that trip, I was late‑diagnosed with ADHD (29 years too late!). Wildlife photography quickly became the one place where my mind feels quiet. If you have ADHD or struggle with your mental health, you’ll know how rare that feeling is!

I hope to one day escape the 9–5 and make wildlife photography my full‑time career. I still have a lot to learn and plenty of experience to gain, but I’m excited to see how far my little Sony setup can take me!

More than anything, I hope my photography can help people slow down, reconnect with wildlife and appreciate the incredible natural world we share - while also highlighting why protecting it matters so much, especially during such a challenging time for our planet.
